The Rocky Mountain Public Library Vision
To create an environment that fosters life-long learning and the enhancement of the individual’s quality of life.
The population of the Rocky Mountain Public Library District represents a diversity of age, background, religion, ethnicity, culture, education, socioeconomic level and lifestyle. This diversity is reflected in the broad range of materials that comprise the collection of the Rocky Mountain Public Library. In order to celebrate diversity within our community, the library will increase the emphasis on the purchase of books, magazines and audiovisual materials which reflect our cultural diversity.
The district's population has a high percentage of library cardholders and makes heavy use of the collection. Customer use is the most powerful influence on the library's collection, and much of the library's use is from new and popular adult books, children's materials and items in audiovisual and electronic formats. Circulation, customer purchase requests and holds levels are all closely monitored, triggering the purchase of new items and additional copies of high-demand items to be included in the collection. In addition to customer demand, selections are made to provide depth and diversity of viewpoints to the existing collection.
Inherent in RMPL philosophy is an appreciation for each customer of the Rocky Mountain Public Library. Without placing a value on one customer's needs or preferences over another, the library upholds the right of the individual to secure materials to support informational, educational and recreational needs.

Message from your Librarians
The librarians at Rocky Mountain Public Library (RMPL) think that libraries should be enjoyable places full of great books, movies, music, and interesting periodicals. We also feel that the library space should be pleasant and everything should be easy to find. Our collection is designed to provide what you are looking for as well as the opportunity for serendipitous finds.
Welcome to our new library building we designed the whole place for convenience and to be comfortable. In addition to semi-traditional stacks we have a beautiful new meeting room (equipped with projector and computer, etc.), as well as different arrangements throughout the building for sitting and reading, using library computers or personal laptops, and even playing games.
In 2014 RMPL found that many of our intital goals and objectives had been met and need to be updated. We were very pleased to have made such progress in the two years since our foundation and are now addressing new needs and creating a strategic plan for 2013-2016. A strategic plan that we anticipate will help us to grow and change to better serve the City of Rocky Mountain and all its many visitors.
It is my honor as Library director to be part of this new time of development as a fundamental and already much appreciated part of the community. I look forward to working with my staff and the RMPL Board of Trustees in the coming year to discover what more we can do for you.

I love a good story book and hope you and your children will join me at the Rocky Mountain Public Library for our weekly story hour.
Sometimes we have Guest-Readers from the community and sometimes we have a craft.
I work closely with the local schools in the hope of keeping the RMPL Youth collection current and diverse to suit the many needs and interests of those who visit our collection.
